It´s Wednesday morning and we´re seated around the wooden table at Cemeti Art House, Yogyakarta. The first wasted team members arrived yesterday and it´s time for our first meeting! Ready to kick-start the day with a freshly brewed cup of coffee the work can begin in preparation for our opening next week.

Our celebrated documentary film maker Miss Aliona van der Horst has delivered a trailer of her film, 'Tomoko's Dress'. Aliona has been editing her film with many interviews with Japanese women who took part in the project 'wasted'.

つながっていく ‐ とき、ところ、こころConnecting time, space & people

90日間の会期が終わり、遠くに見える山々や周囲の草木がすっかり色を変えて秋の訪れを感じさせる中、1万着あまりの白絹のドレスは会期中に訪れてくださった1万人あまりの人々の思いごとそのまま、再び大きな包みになって、次のwasted開催地であるインドネシアに向けて旅立ちました。

会期中、100人近い方々が「ひとりのパフォーマンス」への参加申し込みをしてくださいました。

After the closing of the Echigo-Tsumari Triennial which was held for 90 days, the maze made of enormous amount of dresses were taken down, and all the materials for the installation were wrapped carefully to be sent to the next exhibition venue, Cemeti Art House, Jogjakarta, Indonesia.

越後妻有大地の芸術祭 最終日を迎えました

9月13日、90日間にわたる越後妻有アートトリエンナーレでのwasted展示がいよいよ最終日を迎えました。久しぶりに訪れた飛渡第二小学校から眺める景色はすっかり秋色。






最終日の朝は、早くからお客さんが訪れてくださいました。この日1日だけで400人近くの方々がwastedを見にいらしてくださったとのことです。

作品を訪れてくださった方々、どうもありがとうございました。
また毎日受付を担当してくださったボランティアの「こへび隊」の方々、私たちを温かく受け入れてお世話してくださった三ヶ村の皆さん、そして大地の芸術祭関係者の方々にも心から感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。
