summer, beautiful summer

I left Tokamachi this morning after having into the wasted installation for the last time.It is strong and fragile.
We are now on the train, heading Higashi-naruko for piano concert, missing my beautiful crew, CUT members.

ドレスが乱れるのでは、とか、白い床が汚れるのではないか、とか、気になることは山ほどあるのですが、今夏中wastedの子守りをするわけにもいかず、明日後ろ髪を引かれながら次のコンサートの開始地、鳴子に向かいます。

'wasted' first day

オープニングがあった昨日午後、十日町は急に強い雨が降り出しました。
ドレスの森に降り注ぐような強い雨でした。
雨の音、湿った空気、体育館のにおい、それらがインスタレーションの最後の仕上げをしてくれたように思います。
思いを形にすることに力を貸してくださったすべての人に感謝。

On the day of opening yesterday we had quite strong rain . The sound of rain, moistured air and the smell of gymnastic hall,all of those have completed the installation. Thinking and thanking of all you who have supported to make this happened.

Threading life

All though it might seem that we are pending from single fibers,
that we live and work with independent outcomes; a
it has become clear to me that we all pend from the same net,
and what we give of ourselves stays firmly woven into it.
There is a point where all those connections come together,
and it is there where the love and passion we put into it matters.

BBQ party!!

地元の皆さんが開催してくださったバーベキューパーティー。
地元から総勢60名ほど集まってくださいました。採れたてのおいしい野菜を使った料理やお酒が次から次へと出てきて、プロジェクトのスタッフは大喜び。大人も子供も、地元の方もwastedのスタッフも入り混じって賑やかに食べて飲んで、大変楽しい一夜となりました。

First day Tokamachi at 5 AM!!!

Today is a new day!
Tokamachi is opposite to Tokyo... It has space, mountains and the Echigo Tsumari Triennial.
We woke up at the same time the locals do, which is 5 am!!!!! Some of us at 4.30 am to prepare the meeting (CUT team)
Together with our hosting team of villagers we met at the school site to make a first start of cleaning the school area. Our hosts will prepare the facilities and make things tidy and neat around.

Taku and Takahiro prepared the location and the structure acouple of days before we arrived.
It is now time to put the structure net in. From there we can start hanging the thousands dresses.
Have a look how things will develop coming days.

Hardly internet in this area....

オランダ・フローニンゲンからはるばる海を越えてきたドレスたちと、ここ新潟の飛渡（とびたり）第二小学校体育館で久しぶりに再会です。
フローニンゲンで試行錯誤しながらネットに結び付けたドレスを、ここでまた天井から吊るします。
初日は地元の皆さんも体育館に集まってくださいました。
集合時間は早朝5：00！この地域の方々は、いつもこのくらいの時間から仕事を始めるようですが…。
