9月13日、90日間にわたる越後妻有アートトリエンナーレでのwasted展示がいよいよ最終日を迎えました。久しぶりに訪れた飛渡第二小学校から眺める景色はすっかり秋色。最終日の朝は、早くからお客さんが訪れてくださいました。この日1日だけで400人近くの方々がwastedを見にいらしてくださったとのことです。作品を訪れてくださった方々、どうもありがとうございました。また毎日受付を担当してくださったボランティアの「こへび隊」の方々、私たちを温かく受け入れてお世話してくださった三ヶ村の皆さん、そして大地の芸術祭関係者の方々にも心から感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。wasted日本実行委員会市村貴絵

芸術祭のオープンから早くも3週間。お世話になった三ヶ村の方から｢地元の方々の声」が届きましたので、そのままご紹介させていただきます。１．スタッフの皆様と温かい交流ができて感激しています。２．向井山さんのやさしいお人柄と作品の調和がすばらしい。３．当地区に来ていただいて本当によかった。４．地域のありのままと作品の調和に感動しました。５．スケールの大きさにびっくりです。'wasted' の会場となっている旧飛渡第二小学校は2004年の中越大地震で被害を受け、廃校になりました。地元の皆さんのご理解を得て今年、体育館が'wasted'の作品展示会場として再生されることとなり、7月26日の芸術祭開催以降、多くの方たちがここを訪れています。小学校の敷地内には宇田ヶ沢・菅沼・山新田の３集落、合わせて「三ヶ村」の皆さんがきれいに花を飾った休憩所/特産品売場が設けられています。私たちスタッフが作品の

妻有での作業から帰って10日が経ちました。ようやく新潟でも梅雨が明けたようです。新聞などで紹介されたこともあり、wastedへの来場者は日ごとに増えているようです。さて、妻有では壮大なインスタレーションの設営というダイナミックな力作業の他、細かい作業の積み重ねもありました。ドレスが織りなす壁の仕上げのため、ドレスを1枚ずつネットに結びつける、時には結び目をほどき最初からやり直し、また糸と針を使って細かい部分を縫いつけたり…。このほか、プロジェクト参加希望者にお贈りするための白絹ドレスを1枚1枚丁寧に折りたたみ、袋に詰める作業も行いました。このプロジェクトにとってインスタレーションと同様に大事な、参加者による「ひとりのパフォーマンス」が世界中に紡いでいく「つながり」を思いながら、真夏の体育館でドレスをたたみました。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　photos by
